The collection consists of a volume pertaining to the slave ship Agenoria from 1797-1798. The volume records in detail the sale of the 67 slaves brought from Africa to Savannah, Georgia and includes the number and sex of slaves sold, to whom they were sold, price paid, as well as the auction of remaining slaves. Additional entries contain itemized accounts of expenses for food, clothing, nursing, and selling the slaves. The document was apparently used as evidence in a legal suit between Godwise, Ludlow and Co. and John and Benjamin Brown.
